Healthcare Support
Amidst the prolonged Syrian conflict, approximately 175 medical facilities have been obliterated, and a staggering 700 medical personnel have tragically lost their lives. Further exacerbating the crisis, half of the country’s physicians have fled, leaving Syria with one of the most dire healthcare systems globally. The pervasive poverty has drained all resources, resulting in a scarcity of qualified medical personnel, inadequate administration of vital vaccines and medical supplies, fuel shortages affecting ambulances and field hospital generators, and heightened challenges in delivering urgent medical aid. Regrettably, the situation shows no signs of improvement.
Why Syria?
The Syrian Civil War
The Syrian conflict, Its been more than a decade, and it still remains one of the most significant refugee crises in recent history. Since its onset on March 15, 2011, the Syrian populace has endured immense suffering, resulting in the loss of countless lives due to conflict-related circumstances. Over 80% of Syrians endure extreme poverty, surviving on less than £1.50 per day. The rapid deterioration of the Syrian nation is evident, with widespread displacement and devastation.
The scale of devastation can be quantified by the numbers alone. With over 6.8 million Syrian refugees and asylum-seekers, an additional 6.7 million individuals are internally displaced within the country. This totals to approximately 13.5 million people, reflecting the grim reality of over half of the nation’s population being forcibly displaced. Of this staggering figure, an estimated 11.2 million Syrian nationals require urgent humanitarian assistance. It is disheartening to note that half of the population hardest hit by the refugee crisis comprises children.
Syria Crisis In Numbers
The conflict in Syria has given rise to the largest humanitarian crisis since World War II. Despite Syria representing less than one percent of the global population, its citizens constitute almost one-third of the world’s refugees.

Our Journey
According to the UN, the conflict that engulfed Syria in 2011 has plunged over half of the nation’s population, approximately 13.4 million people, into urgent need of assistance. With the largest refugee population globally
now originating from Syria, the severity of the crisis has prompted the UN to launch its most extensive appeal for aid in history. Entire cities and villages lie in ruins, essential infrastructure stands demolished, families are displaced, and vulnerable individuals, including orphans and widows, are left without the means to survive.
